Global Configuration

Task configuration

tip

Task configuration is shown and configurable only after Hybrid Cloud is enabled in FCP-Suite.

To simplify operations and standardize resource usage policies, administrators can preconfigure which cluster resource options are available during task submission. This configuration controls which options are shown and selectable in the user UI.

  • Configuration: Administrators can select one or more options:
    • Allow existing clusters: Users can select an existing cluster when submitting tasks.
    • Allow creating new clusters: Users can create a new cluster when submitting tasks.
  • UI behavior:
    • Only options selected by administrators appear as available options in the task submission UI.
    • If neither option is selected, the UI shows no cluster selection method and tasks cannot be submitted (select at least one).
    • If both are selected, users can choose either option.
  • Recommendations:
    • Use this configuration to enforce team resource usage policies.
    • If you want to standardize on existing resources, enable only "Allow existing clusters".
    • If you want to encourage elastic cloud usage, enable both options.
    • Ensure at least one option is selected, otherwise users cannot submit tasks.

VNC configuration

  • Configure VNC session timeout (disabled by default)
    • Scope: cluster WebVNC, desktop WebVNC, and desktop application VNC
    • Timeout: after enabled, the system automatically terminates sessions based on the configured timeout
  • Configure default VNC desktop resolution. This applies to users who have not configured their own resolution.

User authentication defaults

To improve user management efficiency, the platform supports global default user groups and roles. Administrators can automatically grant predefined groups and role permissions to built-in/external users to simplify initial permission assignment.

  • Permissions required: administrators must have read permissions for global configuration, groups, and roles.
  • Built-in authentication:
    • When it takes effect: when an admin creates a user, the system automatically assigns the configured default groups and roles. If the admin does not have read permission on groups/roles, the "Default groups" and "Default roles" fields will not be auto-filled.
    • Default groups: default is defaultgroup. You can select one or more existing groups.
    • Default roles: empty by default. You can select one or more existing roles.
  • External authentication:
    • When an external-auth user (LDAP/AD, etc.) is first synced to the system, the user automatically inherits the configured default group (defaultGroup) and default roles.
    • Default groups: special limitation. Only defaultGroup can be selected, or leave empty. Other groups cannot be selected. You can remove defaultGroup.
    • Default roles: empty by default. Same as built-in authentication, you can select one or more roles.
    • Sync now: click Sync now to trigger external user sync and show the last sync time.

Basic configuration

Custom NTP server address

Used to configure the platform NTP server. NTP is used to synchronize time across nodes in clusters to ensure consistency.

This setting is under the Basic configuration section.

Cluster deployment configuration

Sudoer groups: configure which groups should be set as sudoers in platform clusters. Users in these groups can run sudo within clusters.
