Platform Planning

Core FCP Features

FCP includes the following three core features:

App Center

App Center simplifies complex scheduler commands and script operations into a graphical interface, allowing new users to get started with the HPC platform quickly and lowering the barrier to entry. For details, see App Center Overview.

HPC Cluster Service

An HPC cluster consists of multiple nodes and provides computing power that a single node cannot deliver, with the advantages of high performance, elastic scaling, and strong reliability. For details, see HPC Cluster Service Overview.

Desktop Access Service

Desktop Access Service provides a lightweight desktop environment that works out of the box in the browser and requires no client installation. For details, see Desktop Access Service Overview.

Environment Configuration Notes

You can configure the required services based on the core features you need and your actual usage scenarios. Whether you use App Center, HPC Cluster Service, or Desktop Access Service, flexible service configuration helps optimize workflows and improve efficiency.

ServiceDescriptionConfiguration Guide
User authenticationConfigures the authentication method used by platform users. The default is built-in LDAP authentication.User Authentication Configuration
Shared storage directoryLocated under Basic Configuration. This option configures the shared data directory used across cluster nodes. Disabled by default.Shared Storage Directory Configuration
Monitoring configurationConfigures platform monitoring services, including the monitor node IP, data retention days, and retention size. See the linked guide for default values.Monitoring Configuration
NTP server addressLocated under Basic Configuration. This option configures the platform NTP service address to synchronize time across cluster nodes. By default, the management node acts as the NTP service.NTP Server Address Configuration
SSL protocolLocated under Frontend Configuration. This option controls whether the platform uses a more secure access mode. After SSL is enabled, users access the platform securely through https. Disabled by default.SSL Configuration
Task scheduling modeLocated under Basic Configuration. This option configures the platform task scheduling mode. The default is the scheduler-facing task mode (Fsched scheduler mode).Task Scheduling Mode Configuration
Cluster deployment configurationConfigures cluster deployment settings. This section includes three items: additional hosts for /etc/hosts, the list of groups to configure as sudoers, and head node HA. All are disabled or empty by default.Cluster Deployment Configuration
Head node HAA sub-item under cluster deployment configuration. After it is enabled, a compute cluster can use multiple head nodes to improve availability. Disabled by default.Head Node HA Configuration
Email service configurationLocated under Notification Configuration. This option configures the platform email notification service and allows you to customize the SMTP host and sender address. Disabled by default.Email Service Configuration
Data approval configurationConfigures platform data approval services. Disabled by default. Before enabling it, you must prepare the required network and service deployment according to the data approval architecture document.Data Approval Configuration
Web file upload/download limitLocated under Basic Configuration. This option sets the maximum upload and download size for files in Web data management. The default is 200 MiB.Web Upload/Download Limit Configuration
Hybrid cloud configurationConfigures hybrid cloud. Disabled by default. Contact Fastone technical staff to prepare the required cloud services.Hybrid Cloud Configuration
