Available only when hybrid cloud is enabled in FCP-Suite.

Key Concepts

  • Backup service: A data protection service provided by the FCC-E platform. It currently supports backups for Fastor Essential file systems. To prevent data loss or corruption, you can back up file systems using automated backups or manual backups.
  • Backup task: A backup is a point-in-time snapshot of a file system. You can restore a backup task from a specific historical point in time to a new file system.

Features

  • Flexible backup policies for Fastor Essential file systems. Supports manual backups and periodic automated backups, and allows creating/deleting backups on schedule.
  • Each backup task is point-in-time. Only data blocks that changed since the previous backup are stored, reducing backup storage cost.
  • Restore to a new file system from a backup. Restored content includes all data at the backup point in time, as well as user quotas, shared directories, and more.
  • RTO can reach minute-level recovery (about 15 minutes for 1 TiB). Periodic backup plans can achieve hour-level RPO.
  • Supports permanent retention and custom retention periods for backup tasks. When the retention period is reached, backup data is cleaned up automatically to reduce storage cost.
