Typical Workflow
This guide describes a typical workflow in FCP Desktop Portal, covering the full process from uploading data, submitting tasks, monitoring jobs, to downloading results. It helps you quickly understand how to complete daily work using Desktop Portal.
Below is a typical workflow example. You can adjust the steps to match your actual needs.
The typical workflow is as follows.
-
Upload and view data files.
Desktop Portal provides file management. Upload data files from your local computer to the cluster storage directory, then use cluster resources to process the data.
-
Use desktop applications.
If desktop applications are configured by the administrator, you can use a GUI to open data files and perform processing and analysis.
-
Submit tasks using templates.
If task templates are available, submit workloads through templates. Provide the required input data and task parameters, then submit to the cluster.
-
View job details, resource usage, and logs.
Use the Job List and Task List to inspect submitted workloads, review details, monitor resource usage, and read runtime logs.
-
View and download output data.
Job outputs are stored on shared storage. You can open output files directly to view results, or download them to your local computer for offline analysis with your own tools.
