Task Submission

This guide describes how to submit tasks in Desktop Portal. You can select an authorized task template, fill in the required runtime parameters, and submit the workload to run on the cluster.

Prerequisites

  • You have a Desktop Portal account and are logged in.
  • The administrator has granted you access to one or more task templates.

Submit a Task

Select a Task Template

  1. Log in to Desktop Portal and click Task Submission.
  2. Browse the authorized task templates.
  3. Select the template you want to use.

Fill in Runtime Parameters

  1. On the task parameters page, fill in the parameters required to run the task.
    • Required parameters: must be provided, otherwise the task cannot be submitted.
    • Optional parameters: fill as needed.
  2. Some parameters may have default values or dropdown options. Fill them based on your actual scenario.

Upload Input Files

If the template includes a file selector component, click the file selection area and choose the input files required by the task.

Submit

  1. After confirming the parameters are correct, click Submit.
  2. The system will show a success message if submission succeeds.

View Task Status

  1. On the Task Submission page, click Task List.
  2. In the task list, you can view the status, submission time, runtime, and more.
  3. Click a task ID to view details such as logs and resource usage.

FAQs

  • Can't find the required template:
    • Confirm the template has been authorized for your account.
    • Contact your administrator to verify template configuration.
  • Task submission failed:
    • Confirm all required parameters are provided.
    • Confirm parameter formats are correct.
    • Contact your administrator to check the task submission service.
  • Task execution failed:
    • Check task logs for error details.
    • Contact your administrator to check cluster configuration and runtime status.
